Manimahesh Yatra By Helicopter
is situated at 27 Kms from Bharmour at the altitude of 13390 Feet in the foot of Manimahesh Kailash. Lord Shiva is believed to reside on this snow-covered mountain. The lake and peak are considered sacred and a fair called as Manimahesh fair (Manimahesh Yatra) is held at the lake every year in the month of August and September; the Yatra starts from Janamastami and end on Radhastami every year. It is believed that on this occasion both Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati gets the bath in the Lake. For this holy dip in the Lake many people’s follow 14 Kms trekking route from Bharmour to Manimahesh. But all of devotees are not able to trek this gradual and steep access and miss their dream to take dip in the sacred Manimahesh Lake and glorious glimpse of Manimahesh Kailash. Manimahesh Yatra - 2015 will starts from 5th September 2015
The trek route to Shri Manimahesh opened from 15th April for snow trekkers with the help of trained local guides and the snow will remain upto 15th July. The facility before August are very rear so advised to take the help of local experienced and trained guide. And before 30th June the night halt at Manimahesh Lake is not possible due to snow and climate condtions. Although the Manimahesh Yatra 2015 officially will start on 5th September on the occasion of Krishna Janma-Asthami and will ends on 21st September 2015 on the occasion of Radha Asthami. As Per the directions of Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, for the safety and security of all devotee registration is now compulsory for all devotee who are taking part in the Pilgrimage visit to Shri Manimahesh Kailash Yatra. The registration can be done at Kalsuine (15 km from Chamba enroute to Bharmour) or Hadsar (14 km from Bharmour enroute to manimahesh) and the passanger traveling by Helicopter should enroll at Bharmour. All pilgrims will recieve a registartion slip which should be submited at above said stations before and after the yatra.
